Chuck Schumer Calls for Two-State Solution Amid Gaza Conflict

Senate Majority Leader Denounces Netanyahu's Coalition

Urges New Elections and Diplomatic Resolution

Washington, D.C. – Amidst ongoing violence in Gaza, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has delivered a speech on the Senate floor calling for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In his remarks, Schumer strongly criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ultra-right-wing coalition, warning that it posed a threat to both Israelis and Palestinians.

"This is a time for peacemakers, not provocateurs," Schumer said. "The status quo is simply not sustainable. We must work together to find a solution that brings security and prosperity to both Israelis and Palestinians."

Schumer urged the international community to support a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as the shared capital. He also called for new elections in both Israel and Palestine to give the people a chance to choose a path towards peace.

"The people of this region deserve to live in peace and security," Schumer concluded. "We cannot let the forces of division and hatred prevail. It is time for a new path, a path towards a two-state solution and a just and lasting peace."
